K. W. STEPHEN CHEUNG was educated and trained initially as a lawyer in London, England, where he earned LL.B and LL.M degrees with honours from the University of London.  Mr. Cheung undertook post-graduate studies at the University of Michigan as a William F. Cook Fellow; and has further undertaken speciality training at Harvard University, the Chartered Institute of arbitrators and numerous other institutions.

Mr. Cheung has taught and practiced law in England, Manitoba and Ontario; and is a member of the Bars of Manitoba and Ontario, and of the Law Societies of England and Wales and Hong Kong.  

Mr. Cheung has taught law full time, initially concentrating in taxation and corporate law, and has continued throughout his career to teach and lecture in taxation, dispute resolution, organizational management and conflict management at various universities and colleges in Canada and the United States.

Mr. Cheung has been a lawyer for over thirty-seven years during  his practice focused on corporate, commercial and tax law.  Mr. Cheung was a partner of and served as managing partner in a major law firm in south-western Ontario for nearly eighteen years. Mr. Cheung has been principal of his own firm for the past thirteen years during which period, he was able to devote himself to honing his interest and expertise in dispute resolution and conflict management as well as developing the principles, theories and practices of Applied Conflict Management. He has taught and lectured in this area in colleges, universities and for organizations throughout this period.

Mr. Cheung is founder and President of Conflict Management Consultants Inc. which offers holistic conflict management and dispute resolution services and solutions to clients, especially to organizations.  He is an active mediator, arbitrator, negotiator, facilitator, trainer and consultant.

Mr. Cheung holds professional designations of C.Med. (Chartered Mediator), C.Arb. (Chartered Arbitrator), FCIArb (Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators).  He is a member of the elite International Academy of Mediators amongst numerous other organizations focused on dispute resolution and conflict management.  He is member of various dispute resolution panels including American Arbitration Association, International Centre for Dispute Resolution, Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association, ADR Chambers, and ADR Institute of Ontario amongst others.

Mr. Cheung, through Conflict Management Consultants Inc., offers dispute resolution services; and he provides consulting and advisory services to organizations and corporations in Conflict Management and Applied Conflict Management issues. Mr. Cheung custom designs training and workshops for his clients. The clients of Conflict Management Consultants Inc. have included multinational businesses, government departments, and other commercial enterprises large and small.
